Fariz Luthfan is the dedicated Head Coach at Kemang Jiu Jitsu, bringing a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to the mat. A Purple Belt under GFTeam’s Prof. Italo Lins and Prof. Alexander Sumardi, Fariz’s journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began in 2011 while he was in college. During this time, he trained on and off, as most gyms in Jakarta focused on no-gi classes due to the difficulty of obtaining and the high cost of gi, which was still not widely available. Additionally, the cost of training BJJ in Jakarta in 2011 was expensive, making it challenging for many to pursue the sport consistently.

In 2016, after completing his studies and starting his career, Fariz refocused his efforts on BJJ as more gyms in Jakarta started offering gi classes. He earned his Blue Belt in 2018 from Prof. Peter De Been. However, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019 led to the temporary closure of his training gym in 2020. Undeterred, in 2021, Fariz and Fina Phillipe decided to open their own gym, Kemang Jiu Jitsu, which became affiliated with GFTEAM Indonesia under Prof. Alexander Sumardi.

Known for his technical expertise and motivational coaching style, Fariz focuses on cultivating not only skill but also discipline, respect, and a love for the art. In 2023, Fariz was awarded his Purple Belt by Prof. Italo Lins and Prof. Alexander Sumardi. Under his guidance, Kemang Jiu Jitsu has become a hub for practitioners of all levels, from beginners to seasoned competitors.

Fariz is also a Certified Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor, Fitness Enthusiast, website programmer and involved in digital marketing, helping to promote the academy and build its community.
